Going Private

I started this blog as a way to quit sending mass emails to family and friends about what the kids were up to. Most of the emails would get kicked back because of the size of the email from all the pictures and/or videos I would attach. This is still the easiest way to share whats going on with us and mainly the kiddo’s, but I have been thinking about going private on the blog for some time….just a bit creepy thinking of who all out there may be watching us through our blog. When I’ve checked the stats and traffic on the blog there have been questionable reference sites checking out the blog and I’m just not comfortable with being public any longer. So, if you want to stay updated on whats going on with all things “Wesley” please let me know and I will add you to the list. You can either comment, email me privately, or let me know via facebook.

Saving Some Money

I found some great recipes for homemade dishwashing detergent and laundry detergent that sounded like it could really save us some money. We do dishes just about every other night and I do about 8-10 loads of laundry a week between our normal clothes, towels, sheets, and the gentle stuff like my work clothes. Detergent is costly even if its the store brand so I had to try it.

You can get the recipe for the dishwashing detergent here and the laundry detergent here. I found all the ingredients at our local grocery store. The cost to get all the ingredients were roughly about $17 for the dishwashing detergent and about $28 for the laundry detergent. I have used both now and both seem to have worked great. The blog where I found this said it took her about 9 months to use all the laundry detergent so for $28 thats pretty darn good. Just a little goes a long way too. About 1 tbsp for the both detergents with each load.

We scheduled our new floors to be installed the weekend of January 14th so I’m gonna need to start saving money to pay for those!!! I’m so excited…it’ll be like Christmas again mid-January!!
